News broadcasting

The term news broadcasting immediately connects us with the transmission of the news through electronic media. There are mainly three types of news broadcasting available in the present time they are television, radio and internet news. Since from quite some time internet is also catering the requirement for the news and it is available in all the forms like print, video and audio. A newscast usually consists of the coverage of various news events and other information, either produced locally in a radio or television station newsroom, by a broadcast network or by the team managing a news site using various resources. It may include additional material as sports coverage, weather forecasts, traffic reports, commentary and bullion market/ share market reports that the broadcaster feels is relevant to their target audience/ viewer.

Television news pertains to circulating current events via the medium of television. News bulletins or newscasts are the programs that last from few minutes to hours that provide updates on world, national, regional or local news events. Television news is essentially image-dominated, showing video for most of the events that are reported by the newscaster. Television channels mostly provide news bulletins as part of a regularly scheduled news program that may vary for different time slots by giving importance to different topics of interests. Rarely television shows may be interrupted or replaced by some important news flashes to provide news updates on current events of great importance or sudden development of events having great importance.

Radio news is the like the television news but it is transferred through the medium of the radio and available to the news enthusiasts in the audio format only. The visual aspect is absent from the radio news in totality. Narration of the events are captured and recorded through various reporters and played back through the radio. News updates are the regular feature on the radio as compared to the television; usually it takes place about once an hour. Traffic updates are also extremely popular through the radio, especially during rush hour when people get off to work. Radio news bulletins are also categorized during the scheduled time slot with special assignment to some topic of interest.
